Nuclear Fusion

I am very proud to present this paper. This is probably the single paper I spent most time on among the ones I showcase on my website.

Every major at Carleton College requires an “integrative exercise” to graduate, which is a fancy name for “Thesis.” We often call it “Comps” for short, which is presumably a short name for “Composition.” For Physics major, students are required to choose a topic, do literature research on it, and present it clearly to fellow students and faculties.

Background aside, this is my Physics Comps, featuring the topic of nuclear fusion. I chose the topic out of pure interest, and it has nothing to do with the research I did or would do at that time. It took me almost four months to complete, with three draft versions going back and forth between my advisors and me. It was really a tiring but satisfying experience.
