In-Camera Edit

This is an earlier and shorter assignment from the same class. Unlike the final project, this earlier assignment had many restrictions: 1. it has to be exactly 2 minutes long; 2. it must be edited in-camera and not by any post production; 3. it must tell a story without the help of sound; 4. it must contain no faces of any character.

I told a story with three tiny storylines, showing the different lifestyles of three students, and in the end all three went to dining hall together shows that we are able to have fun together no matter how different we are. I used a few techniques, including visual match (swiping cards, reaching out for eraser/cup, etc.) and color tones (warmer in one scene and colder in another).

To have a good control of timing and framing and directing, I prepared by drawing storyboards. They were super crude, but gave myself pretty good ideas of what to shoot.
