Feiyu Theater – Logo
Our theater club is officially named Feiyu Theater. “Feiyu” literally means “not fish,” which comes from an ancient Chinese story that basically says “you cannot know the joy of being a fish if you are not fish,” and here “fish” is a metaphor of “being on stage/being in our theater club.”
I designed the logo for the club. This was done in a bit rush as I remember I was putting all of my effort into preparing for the qualification exam of the physics PhD program. Still, it has a few clever elements. The logo is a combination of Chinese characters “Yu” (“fish”, emboss) character “Fei” (“not”, deboss). As the draft shows, I tried a few designs before finalizing.
